No it is not pointless using chat,the chat room the cafe is good to chat an meet others we all have a nice time in thereyou meet people an make friends,i have made some great friends in there an still friends to this daymen an women...

Though it depends on what your looking for,

Men an women go in chat an all chat together, if you was looking for just chat one to one then they wouldnt have chat rooms but can still find yr lady or man by instant message if thats what you want...

but please dont say chat is pointless it is good to talk an meet other people...
